The Power of Sport: new conference planned

Smart Connection Company and Interpoint Events are launching of Power of Sport, a dedicated sports management conference aimed at supporting local sports clubs, associations, sport and recreation facilities and local government, growing participation in community sport and recreational activities.
Following the success of the National Synthetic Surfaces Conference & Expo in 2013 (pictured), the Power of Sport will be centered on the use of innovative programmes and technology being used to drive people to be more active in more places.
The conference will feature presentations from organisations including Tennis Australia, Australian Football League/Cricket Australia, Hockey Australia, National Rugby League, Skateboarding Australia and the Australian Rugby Union.
Managing Director of Smart Connection Company Martin Sheppard, says “The conference will aim to show delegates how to grow community participation in sport, recreational events and activities with innovative programmes and marketing.”
Speakers will discuss management of facilities, and how best to seek collaboration opportunities between health, recreation, government, commercial and community sectors to grow and retain members and participants.
The Power of Sport will be co-located with the National Synthetic Surfaces conference and expo.
The events will share keynote sessions along with its own stream focusing on the latest trends, applications and issues around the use of synthetic surface technology to cope with the growing demand for more sports surfaces.
The combined B2B trade show will be held adjacent to the conference and will be free to attend.
Parks and Leisure Australia will again support the event to be held on June 3 -4 at Sydney’s Rosehill Racecourse. More info: www.nssce.com.au
