Buying event means bottoms up for members

Says general manager sports division of ARL, Terry Dopper, "the event was extremely well attended and we have had positive feedback from many members and suppliers, some committing for next year already.
"Many commented on the ease and flow of the range presentations and we thank suppliers for their support and enthusiastic approach.
The first day kicked off with a lively bus trip to adidas in Mulgrave that included some adidas history and brand questions that were rewarded with immediate prizes.
The adidas trivia night was a lot of fun with many giveaways and prizes - with the main prize of a large screen TV being won by Janine Konidaris from Sportspower Alice Springs, reports Dopper.
It was the first buying event for new team members Moniques Maes, appointed Footwear and Apparel Manager in September after 11 years with adidas and Fiona MacArthur.
She has been appointed Senior Product Co-ordinator for Footwear & Apparel after a merchandise planning role with ARL and a senior buying role in retail fashion.
The Member & Supplier Awards Reception on Tuesday night was another highlight. ASICS topped the awards league table as Footwear Supplier of the Year, QLD rep of the Year - Cheyne Murphy, Vic rep of the Year - Leigh Taylor, NSW rep of the Year - Tim Wynnn and WA rep of the Year Gary Metcalf.
Nike was named Apparel Supplier of the Year; SA/NT rep of the Year - Rob Inglis from Running Bare and TAS rep of the Year - Chris Hardinge of adidas
