Canterbury jumps on to Kangaroos apparel
Canterbury and the North Melbourne Football Club have teamed up for the next three AFL seasons.
Canterbury will be the club’s official apparel partner from 2015, with members and fans to purchase the new sports, performance and casual wear range from December.
The on-field team kit offering will be engineered using Canterbury’s latest high performance fabric which delivers significant stretch capabilities, allowing a tight fit to help players evade the opposition without restricting movement.
The Kangaroos will wear the jumper for the first time during their ore-season NAB Challenge campaign and North vice-captain Jack Ziebell will become an ambassador for the club’s new brand.
Canterbury Australasia Managing Director, Michael O’Donnell, says “Canterbury is passionate about sport; we are passionate about the spirit of the game.
“The new North Melbourne Guernsey boasts a host of contemporary and innovative features while the aesthetics remain true to the traditional North Melbourne style.”
North Melbourne chief executive Carl Dilena says, “We're very excited about the new playing and training gear – the technological enhancements should assist on-field performance and our members and supporters will be very pleased with the quality of the Canterbury apparel in our new merchandise range."
• Canterbury has previously provided playing shirts to the New Zealand All Blacks and the Australian Wallabies.
It is current team kit supplier to NRL teams including QLD State of Origin, the Australian Kangaroos, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and New Zealand Warriors along with a host of international Rugby teams that include England and Ireland and the current Super Rugby Champions the NSW Waratahs.
The Kangaroos were kitted out by Sydney-based Blades for the 2014 season.
