Canterbury signs Bunny Burgess as brand face

Canterbury has added cross-code player Sam Burgess as ambassador for the rugby and lifestyle off-field clothing.

Burgess is the latest to join Canterbury’s growing team of brand ambassadors which includes Australia and Toulon utility back James O’Connor, England and Leicester Tigers lock Geoff Parling, England and Leeds Rhinos half-back Kevin Sinfield, ex-England 7s captain Rob Vickerman, Women’s Rugby World Cup winner Danielle Waterman and former England Rugby World Cup winner, Will Greenwood.

Dewsbury-born Burgess is currently one of four brothers playing rugby league in Australia’s NRL for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, but will cross codes to join Bath in the Aviva Premiership in October.

A powerful runner, tackler and try-scorer he was considered one of rugby league’s hottest properties and his signing represented a major coup for the south west club, reports Canterbury’s global chief executive Chris Stephenson.
