Charles Parsons acquires Line7
Published: October 13, 2009Textile group Charles Parsons (NZ) has acquired apparel brand Line7, which includes full ownership of the brand IP and all registered trademarks world-wide.
Charles Parsons is a privately-owned textile house supplying many customers in the sports and outdoor industries throughout Australia, NZ and the Asia Pacific with technical fabrics.
The group was established in 1915, and today employs more than 700 staff across 20 locations, sourcing and developing products across textile markets globally.
Chief executive of Charles Parsons (NZ), Peter Allard says: "We are really excited to have acquired this brand and have been a long term supplier to Line7."
The brand began life in 1963, making wet weather clothing for sailors, providing clothing for crews in the America's cup, Round the World yacht races and the Olympics, as well as motor racing gear, retail lifestyle, agricultural and marine clothing. It went into receivership in late June.
