Cricketer Clarke tops media mentions league table

Test cricketer Michael Clarke is top of the media monitors iSentia league table of ten most covered Australian sport personalities of 2014.

The company looked at coverage in the press, radio, television and internet to conclude that Clarke led sportsperson media mentions with golfer Adam Scott coming in at number ten.

Number two was Essendon FC and supplements scandal personality James Hird, followed by the late cricketer Phillip Hughes.

Further down the rollcall came racing driver Daniel Ricciardo, then two tennis players Nick Kyrgios and Lleyton Hewitt, followed by AFL player and Australian of the Year Adam Goodes.

The top ten is completed by tennis young gun Bernard Tomic and Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou.

There are no women or stars from rugby league or union included in the list.
