Diadora is off to Scotland

Diadora has signed up as official supplier of competition, training and delegation wear for the Australian Commonwealth Games team.

Performance sports brand Diadora signed on this week to dress the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Reports Bill Tyson, managing director of Diadora’s Australian distributor  and licensee Overland Marketing (pictured) , “As a brand committed to offering the Australian community great value performance sports wear for the whole family, Diadora is proud to cement its credibility as a performance athletic brand.”

Diadora’s investment in sport has been considerable, with Tour de France victor Cadel Evans and AFL players Dane Swan, Lenny Hayes and Dan Hannebery joining past legends such as Bjorn Borg, Sebastian Coe and Roberto Baggio, who have all competed on the elite stage in Diadora footwear.

Diadora will draw on its Italian heritage to influence the design process and styling, but will ultimately manage the production of the Australian team uniform from its Melbourne headquarters.

Says Tyson, “ We look forward to the great challenge of outfitting Australia’s best athletes in Glasgow next year,  and  hope to see plenty of Diadora on the winners podium.”

Australian Commonwealth Games Association chief executive Perry Crosswhite says, “Diadora is an international brand that has worked with some of the world’s top athletes so it understands what is needed to provide high quality competition and training wear. ”
