Dopper returns to ARL

New general manager for the sport  and leisure division of Associated Retailers Limited is Terry Dopper.

He took up his new role at  the Richmond-Victoria headquarters on Monday July 30 and  manages the  Sports Power, Sportscene and Sportscene Warehouse members groups.

The role had been under the direct supervision of Campbell McMahon after the departure of Corrie Withers earlier this year.  Dopper reports to McMahon who is General Manager Group Retail and Development.

The outdoor division which includes Camping World and Compleat Angler is overseen by John Reddenbach who also looks after Toyworld.

Dopper joined FrontLine Stores Australia after leaving ARL  as national marketing manager in 2005. He finished with  FrontLine late last year as marketing and merchandise general manager.

Says Campbell McMahon in a letter to preferred suppliers, “Terry joins ARL with a wealth of both general retail and specific sporting goods retail experience.

“He has a clear knowledge of the sports industry, the challenges of the market ... and his appointment will ensure we position the activities of our sports group to maximise the value of outputs for members and build partnerships with our preferred supplier partners.”
