Dubbo floods hit SportsPower warehouse

There but for the grace of God and higher ground go many retailers around the country in this most unusual December weather.

Long-time  retailer Anthony Barnes of  Sportspower Dubbo has suffered from both the massive drought hitting trade and now  this flood, which  peaked at 9.7 metres on Sunday morning. His store is located in Macquarie Street .

He reports that, “we tried to get the stock out  as the Macquarie River waters continued to rise.

“On Sunday morning, the river has peaked at 9.7 metres which resulted in around 2.5 metres of water in my warehouse.

“The fork lift is completely submerged, the power and lights are off for safety and it is very eerie. I don’t think I have enough sponges to clean this up!”
