Easton/Bauer: 'Business as usual' says Lumley

The news that Easton’s baseball and softball business internationally has been acquired by skating brand Bauer is not expected to affect distribution of both brands in Australia.

So says Addlon Trading’s general manager Steve Lumley. “As Australian distributor of both brands, the Addlon team expects the finer points of the agreement to become clear as time passes but intends to continue business as usual.”

Lumley says, “From the Australian perspective, we have achieved market-leading positions with both Bauer (ice and roller hockey) and Easton (diamond sports) and we expect we can continue to maintain that status under the new arrangements.”

The international announcement has been reported by the ISPO newsletter: Bauer Performance Sports has announced the acquisition from Easton-Bell Sports of the softball and baseball sector of its business which falls under the Easton brand.

Bauer is reported to be paying $US330 million in cash.
