Ispo Shanghai: more brands, visitors

Organisers of Ispo Shanghai report the show is growing, with 32 percent more exhibitors and extra seminars this year.

More than 470 companies with around 500 brands participated in Shanghai National Exhibition Center and took part in the strong accompanying programme.

On an exhibition space of more than 30,000 square metres, the most important new products, developments and trends from the Action, Sportstyle, Fitness, Running, Functional Textiles, Outdoor, Paddling and Watersports segments were displayed over three days to almost 15000 visitors last week..

Chief executive of organisers Messe München, Klaus Dittrich says,"The increase in the number of exhibitors shows that our multi-segment concept works.

"Over the next 20 years, China will develop to become the world's largest sports and fitness market. Companies who intend to continue doing successful business in the future must become active here now".

Information on investment opportunities in the international sports business was provided at the China Sports Industry Innovation & Investment Forum, while the China Sports Media Forum was dedicated to the challenges and opportunities entailed by the new media and technologies.

The Sports Digital Workshop, at which everything revolved around wearables, also attracted high numbers of attendees.

For two days, the Market Introduction Programme showed how international companies can successfully manage to enter the Chinese market.

For the first time, the Ispo Textrends platform presented 2018 spring and summer trends, complementing the autumn and winter trends of Ispo Munich.

Exhibitors who reported their success at the Shanghai show included Barry Lin, Sales Director of Sea to Summit, China and Executive chairman of Skins Jamie Fuller who reported that "This is our first time to ISPO here in Shanghai, and it's way bigger than I expected - we found Ispo Shanghai will be the wonderful opportunity to show again."

• The next Ispo Shanghai will be held from July 6-8, 2017. Ispo Beijing 2017 will be held from February 15-18.
