JD Sports head up Pentland profits

Pentland Group PLC has reported a 25 percent rise in total group revenue in 2017, led by retail chain JD Sports, which has nine stores in Australia and growing.

The group's brand division owns Speedo, Berghaus, Canterbury, Mitre, Boxfresh and Red or Dead and also sells the footwear of Lacoste and Ted Baker and Kickers in the U.K under global licenses.

Pentland brands also include Ellesse, U.S. footwear brand SeaVees and cycling brand Endura.

Headquartered in the UK, Pentland Group employs more than 19,000 people. Brands are available across 190 countries, including Australia and NZ, and the group operates more than 800 stand-alone shops.
