Ten sports for first day of Masters

Competition gets underway at the Pan Pacific Masters Games this week with ten sports in action on the first day.

There are 42 sports with more than 15,5000 athletes participating, starting with field archery, futsal, golf, indoor cricket, lawn bowls, dragon boat paddling, sailing, softball, squash and volleyball launching the games.

Opening ceremony will be held on Saturday night at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, with competition going on for more than a week.
