'We're setting new records now'

New single-round records for attendance, TV ratings and digital audiences were set in the opening week of  this 2012/13 season, announced a cock-a-hoop Hyundai A-League.

In round one, 93,500 fans turned out to the five matches, beating the previous single-round aggregate record set earlylast season of 87,508.

TV audiences have also surged with an average audience of 108,000 per game, marking an increase of over 35 percent on audiences from last season and up 38 percent on the corresponding round from the 2011/12 season.

Visits to the FFA digital network of club and Hyundai A-League websites was up 25 percent on last season’s first round record, reports the Football Federation Australia chief executive Ben Buckley.
